Our Website

We decided that four our website homepage we were going to have Josh as the background. We decided this because we thought that people would recognise whose website it was straight away. We decided that we were going to have the picture that we are using for the front cover of his cd album because we feel that tis picture is a bold picture and gives off a statement.

We all agreed that we thought that we should have the same style of writing for the homepage as we did for the website. We decided this because we felt that this would be known as Josh's style, so when people see this writing they would know that it is Josh Embury and it would also give off the sense of continuity.

Once we had decided the background and style we then had to decided he other features that would go on the website. After looking at similar artists' websites that are in the same genre, we decided that we would put different links on the website. We had to think about which links we felt would be best for our website but still follow other artists' websites. Here is a list of the links that we put on our website:

Once this was done we decided that we would put some pictures of Josh and place them in different areas on the site.

However after taking a look once all the pictures were in place we realised that we had to many pictures and they were all the same style of picture. When we realised this we decided that we would ask Josh if it was possible to do a photo shoot with him. We stayed after school and took several pictures of Josh so that we had a variety. Unfortunately i had work commitments so I was not able to stay for part of the photo shoot.

Once we had the pictures of Josh, we uploaded them and chose which ones we thought would look on the website and for the digi-pak.

We then decided to see if it was possible to upload our video onto the website. We tried it a few times but it did not work. However we found a way and placed the video on the website. We first talked about having the song playing as soon as you enter the site but we found that we did not have the knowledge of how to do this so therefore we were unable to do this.

Whilst we were looking at some websites we noticed that there was a blurb about the artist. We then sat down and decided that we would write one about Josh. We decided to place the blurb in the middle of the website for a number of different reasons. The first reason was because it is one of the first things you see on the website. The second reason was because we thought that it would look good in the position where we have put it.

We also noticed that on their website They have upcoming dates and features such as tweets from Twitter. We decided to have this on our website to show that Josh is up to date we also felt that by having tweets from Twitter it would show that Josh's target audience are able to see what he is doing and when. We felt that by having this on our homepage it would be a good feature.

We also noticed that other artists have a section on their homepage/website which allows their fans to follow them on Myspace, Facebook and Twitter. We thought that by having this on the website it would show that fans are able to follow Josh and that we are also following the trend of other artists in the genre.
